See what comes nextUse its protected environment for Career Agents, introductory missions, exploration, mining, and meeting other new pilots. Remember that its economy and rewards are intentionally reduced.
Understand ExordiumCareer Agent locations also exist outside Exordium. From your current location, you can continue into normal high-sec, corporation life, exploration, trade, industry, or PvP.
Choose a directionExordium became the starting region for newly created characters in June 2026. Existing characters can continue from their current location; this page summarizes the newer onboarding systems.
Open the Field ManualThis sequence is a practical reference. Pause, branch out, or join friends whenever another activity gives you a better reason.
Movement, overview, targeting, modules, fitting, inventory, agents, and basic travel are the important outcomes.
They introduce several core activities and provide ships, modules, ISK, and standings. Your later training remains open across professions.
It is separate from Career Agents and rewards progress across multiple styles of play.
These three mental models make later choices easier to evaluate.
Run missions, explore, mine, trade, manufacture, haul, join a fleet, or deliberately go lose inexpensive ships.
EVE characters can train across roles. A useful corporation or group often matters more than optimizing an early training path.
All newly created capsuleers now begin in Exordium, a 53-system starter region. Its dedicated 1.0 security class prevents normal player-versus-player combat while pilots learn the interface and core systems.1
Manifest connects to Yulai by stargate. After initial onboarding, empire embassy shipcasters also provide a one-time, one-way route into the selected empire's high-security space. Use either route when you are ready to continue into normal empire space.1
A Career Agent location contains five agents whose chains introduce different systems. Completing them leaves later training open across all roles.
Navigation, cosmic signatures, probe scanning, relic/data concepts, and exploration fittings.
Targeting, weapons, defenses, combat sites, and straightforward PvE engagements.
Hauling, salvaging, mining, hacking, manufacturing, and the practical movement of materials between activities.
Mining, reprocessing, manufacturing, blueprints, and the material-to-product loop.
More advanced PvE combat and a few basic PvP concepts, including missions that intentionally sacrifice the supplied ship.
Rejecting a Career Agent mission can prevent the rest of that agent's arc from being offered. When you only need a break, use the mission window's Delay option.4
Soldier of Fortune includes deliberate ship-loss exercises. Do not move valuable modules or personal cargo into a ship the mission tells you will be destroyed.4
Each location places all five Career Agents in one station. The mission chains are equivalent across sets, so location and travel convenience are usually the useful deciding factors.4

Five guided agents at a Career Agent location. Each chain demonstrates a specific cluster of mechanics and can only be completed once per agent by that character.
A separate progress system that recognizes activity across multiple playstyles. It complements the guided mission instruction provided by the Career Agents.5
Standings control access and relationships with NPC agents, corporations, and factions. The number shown after skills can differ from the underlying base standing.3
Increases the percentage gained when an NPC standing increase occurs. It changes future gains rather than merely changing the displayed effective value.
Improves effective positive standings with non-pirate NPC entities. Useful for reaching agent access thresholds sooner.
Improves effective standings that are below zero. Useful when poor relationships are restricting access or creating travel problems.
The positive-standing skill for pirate NPC entities. Connections, Diplomacy, and Criminal Connections do not all stack on the same relationship.
Improves ISK payments from agents. Train it when mission running is becoming a regular activity rather than an occasional experiment.
Social III is broadly useful before consuming many one-time standings opportunities. Connections II–III helps ordinary mission progression. Train Diplomacy when negative standings create a real problem. Add Negotiation when agent missions become recurring income. Adjust the order around the activities you decide to pursue.
Storyline missions can change related faction standings through derived gains and losses. The standings transaction history shows the individual changes behind the aggregate value.
CCP changed the final Career Agent mission standing rewards so they no longer trigger derived standings. Completing an empire's Career Agents no longer creates the old opposing-empire penalty from those completion rewards. Characters who had already started or previously spoken to a specific agent before the February 25 change can still receive the older derived-standing result from that agent.2
The Pilot Path Finder routes you into KillSync guides and tools by goal. EVE supports cross-training, so an early direction can remain temporary or expand later.
